excerpt from an unpublished novel of mine

i've been writing for a long time now, but i've put my texts and articles mostly on my homepages and journal/blogging platforms. i even undertook a short-lived publishing endeavour, releasing a few e-books. i'm still planning on self-publishing a short story collection at some point... but for now, there are three books out there that contain words written by me. (in german)

  • bodies of water (novella, herzstückverlag, 2022, cover by sarah berger)
  • trainlag (novella, sukultur, 2014, cover by zanko)
  • tausend tode schreiben (short story, frohmann, 2015, cover by christiane frohmann/ursula steinhoff)
covers of 3 publications
covers of 3 publications (2014-2022)

i'm still writing short stories from time to time, but nowadays i mostly write for the video game that nursey and i have been developing for a few years. it's a different kind of writing, because there's a lot writing "behind-the-scenes", so to speak (like backstories and world-building), which i then turn into dialogues, articles, descriptions (characters, environment), thoughts, ui,... since i'm doing all of this in english (which isn't my mother tongue), it's a lot harder, but i can express things differently and that makes it an interesting challenge.

we made a jigsaw puzzle game in 2023 (pieces I: a maskros nebula game) as an introduction to our universe, the maskros nebula, and i got to practice these little texts.

i'd write this differently today, but it's great to see some progress. and it seems to pay off to write in another language consistently and on a regular basis. less work for the editors and proofreaders (i hope).

last but not least, i rediscovered my joy for journalling/writing diary/expressing my thoughts in the form of articles/posts. it was actually my main drive to create a homepage again and i'm having so much fun with it!
